In hundreds of cities and towns around the world it is well known about the Hare Krishna Sunday "Love Feast". Started by His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada during the 1960's in the United States of America soon the "love Feast" became a popular phenomenon with the young and old of ALL races and creeds.

Today the Sunday Feasts are a regular event in well over 300 Hare Krishna centres world-wide, and hundreds more affiliated centres, still more Naam Hattas, and private homes.

The Sunday feasts are a safe environment where devotees and friends of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness can meet, chant the Holy Name of the Lord together, discuss, and hear the philosophy surrounding the Ancient Vedic Culture of India, and take part in honouring sanctified foods that have been offered with love to Krishna the Supreme Personality of Godhead.

Generally there is no, or a small fee for attending, or a donation is sometimes asked, depending on the particular time, place and circumstances to maintain the cost of the feast, etc. To find out more it is advised to contact the nearest Hare Krishna centre/temple/naam hatta to you, or look in your BTG (Back to Godhead Magazine), or look in the phone book under ISKCON (International Society for Krishna Consciousness) or Hare Krishna.

The Sunday Feast is not designed as a Welfare Arm of the Hare Krishna movement, rather a meeting place of like minded souls to assist in their mutual spiritual development. Hare Krishna Food For Life is the Welfare Arm.

In some countries local governments have laws that state that attendance to such feasts can only be by personal invitation only. Some Sunday Feasts move on a rotational basis among the community in Naam Hatta centres or private homes. Therefore to minimise the chance of being left out, offended, or left behind please contact the devotees who run your local centre and find out at which place and time the feast is on, and if you should bring something to contribute - and if so what???
