NOTE: These letters start at the most recent before her passing away.......
My dear Vrndavanisvari dasi,

Please accept my blessings. All glories to Srila Prabhupada. I beg to thank you for your original letter as well as your email and I've read both carefully.

The feelings and thoughts that you have expressed in your letters are very deep and confidential. I feel so keen to reciprocate with you in all regards. At the present moment I am dictating this letter to you while waiting to hear about my dear disciple Kirtida's surgery. I am sitting in a room in the hospital's chapel. At the same time I am remembering our association together. It was Providential and continues to be so. When the heart is soft and open, Krishna can impart transcendental knowledge through guru. I feel that your heart is very pliable and very open to receiving Krishna's mercy. It is therefore very easy to help you. Furthermore, I feel Krishna's reciprocation is mutually beneficial.

Your husband's appreciation for me is one hundred percent reciprocated from my side. I've rarely met such a devotee as he. He has such genuine Vaisnava qualities, enthusiasm for association, and especially for chanting of Hare Krishna mantra. I realize there is much progress for both of you to make in this regard, but the fact that you have so much faith in the Holy Name will carry you to perfection. Furthermore, you have appreciation for dhama seva. The pastimes of Krishna and His associates as well as Caitanya Mahaprabhu and His are revealed when one serves the dust of the dhama. I shall always remember the picture of your husband covered with the dust of Radha Kunda after he had completed dandavat parikram there. He was absolutely maddened.

I will do my best to reciprocate with through letters like this. But I would like to be able to speak to you by phone. The human voice evokes great feeling through which meaning can be transmitted. So I think sometimes we can communicate by phone if that is alright with you. My house number in Cambridge is 44 1223 368-149. The best time to speak to me is around 5 or 6 o'clock in the evening, London time.

As I remember, you will be going to India and I hope you receive this letter before leaving. I promise to help you in all regards as much as I can. Of this be certain. I think we understand each other's heart very nicely.

Your well wisher,

Tamal Krishna Maharaja.

My dear Vrindavanesvari dasi,

Please accept my blessings and thanks for your email of September 4, 2001. I have taken all that you have written on board, which is not a little. You are like an emotional freight train. I mean this in a very nice way. In other words, there is a lot of emotional fuel in your letters. They are actually overwhelming. But I am happy to be aboard this train and will help to steer it sure and straight in the direction of back to home, back to Godhead.

I think you and your husband must certainly join us next year for Janmastami in Hungary. As far as going to India in kartik, I can't really recommend that considering the present world climate. Better to stay where you are. This is not the right time to travel. I had a four-day trip to Israel planned for this weekend to coincide with my moving house, but have had to cancel the trip. The move, however, will go ahead. I will be shifting from Cambridge to Oxford in order to get more association which is available there due to a good number of devotees, who pursuing their Ph.Ds.

Hoping this meets you and your husband in good health and blissful spirits.

Your ever well-wisher,
Tamal Krishna Goswami

My dear Vrindavanesvari devi dasi,

Please accept my blessings. All glories to Srila Prabhupada and to your Guru Maharaja.

I beg to respond to your letter, handed to me during my visit to Auckland.
Please be assured that what I meant when I said that we had to be a selfless servant to develop the mood of spontaneous devotion, does not exclude you. I do not make a distinction between your doing business and someone else "preaching".
What you are doing is being done for the service of your Guru Maharaja, who is fully engaged in the preaching mission.
Therefore you are part of this preaching mission-you are also a preacher. I hope this is clear.
What this means practically is that you will develop selfess devotion which is the real qualification for understanding our eternal relationship with Krsna. When you heart is purified, then Krsna will automatically reveal himself to you through the chanting of the Hare Krsna mantra, by the grace of your spiritual master.
Please do not think that there is only one type of service-preaching. There are unlimtied varieties of services, but they are part of the preaching mission of Lord Caitanya. The main point is that they should be performed with an attitude of pleasing Krsna and furthering His desires. Krsna in the form of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu desires that everyone get the opportunity to become Krsna conscious. So, if we maintain that compassionate attitude through whatever service we are engaged in, then no doubt we will become qualified to study and understand the Goswamis' literatures.
As you feel inspired by seeing me, so I feel similarly enthused whenever |I meet you, remembering your intimate relationship with your Guru maharaja, my very dear friend and godbrother. I pray that you will feel protected within ISKCON despite any upheavels in your ashram. I pray that Sri Guru and Sri Gauranga bestow Their causeless mercy upon you and grant you all intelligence and strength to become Their pure devotee, and in this very lifetime go back home, back to Godhead.
Hoping you are in good health

Your ever well wisher
Tamal Krsna Goswami
